This was my first time visiting Continental Treat Downtown, and I really enjoyed my experience. The ambience was really nice, the food was excellent, and our server Keshia was very friendly and attentive. I had the continental salad, salmon and the brownie for dessert and they were all really good! Portion sizes aren’t huge, but not tiny. Will be back again next weekend. There was also a string quartet playing, which was lovely. Keshia said that live music is on Friday and Saturday evenings.
I visited here very randomly on my way back from a walk to the Muttart. I pass it every day but have never gone in and I didn't think the style of food would appeal to me. This place blew my expectations away. I had the dill soup and schnitzel and my friend had a Reuben. We also shared a black forest cake. Everything was fantastic and well-balanced. Also the potato salad! The service was really good too and I enjoyed talking with the server. He was knowledgeable and made good recommendations. Lastly, I liked the theme of the bathroom. (No spoilers) Already looking forward to going there again.
We went here for lunch and had the Garlic Prawns to start. The prawns were big and served with their GF bread. (One of the best gluten free breads I’ve had.) We both had the soup and sandwich combo. I preferred the Reuben over the Chicken Schnitzel. We’ve both had the dill pickle soup before (which is delicious) so for the soups we tried the French Onion (extra fee) and the Red Barszcz (polish borscht). We liked both and the GF croutons in the French Onion was good too. We ordered one combo with fries and the other with potato salad. Again both were really good. The fries were very fresh and crispy. The potato salad had egg and pickles which we enjoyed. We were extremely full as we were also served complimentary biscuits at the start. Love that all the food here is gluten free which removes a lot of the stress of eating out!
My partner and I had an amazing dinner here before going to a concert downtown on Saturday night. Our server, Ayla, was attentive, professional, and friendly. The food was delicious and the string quartet was a lovely touch.
This is a top-notch place that is an excellent meal for a mid cost. The flavours were unique, and so tasty! I would strongly recommend the dill soup and elevated pierogis

The Continental is a special place. The food is amazing, the vibe is elevated but not pompous, and the service is incredible, friendly, and fast. Keshia was our server, and she was so lovely— she chatted, laughed, and was a welcomed face throughout the evening. We came here to celebrate the birthday of someone we recently lost, and she was so comforting and understanding. We will be coming back here whenever we have cause to celebrate or need to feel a sense of community. The Continental is a staple of the Edmonton downtown core, and we hope it is here for many years to come.
